Moving Dobbs Ferry Forward

The Village of Dobbs Ferry was awarded $4.5 million through the New York Forward (NY Forward) program to create more walkable, sustainable, resilient, and economically robust downtown areas. After 2 Public Workshops and 5 Local Planning Committee (LPC) Meetings, the LPC has finalized a slate of projects (see the table below) that it will submit to the Department of State (DOS) in December 2025 as part of the Strategic Investment Plan (SIP). A multiagency State team will review each project and award funding to a subset of the projects submitted.

Final Slate of NY Forward Projects

Launched in 2022, New York State's NY Forward program builds on the success of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) program. NY Forward focuses on invigorating and revitalizing downtowns in smaller and rural communities—villages, hamlets, and other small, neighborhood-scale municipal centers. As a NY Forward awardee selected by the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council, Dobbs Ferry will undertake an approximately eight-month community-based planning process that will result in the identification of a slate of complementary and transformative projects that will help revitalize the downtown.
